Beta Reseller requirements

Our reseller, or partner integration platform is available as of release 1.13. While the platform is in beta, the following requirements are subject to frequent change as we work on stabilisation & maturity.

Basic requirements

To run your own reseller, or partner solution, you will require:

1. A domain

Since the platform is built around the ability to fully whitelabel the mambo solution, the first, and most basic requirement is the use of a custom domain. Here are our domain requirements:

  1. It must be a root domain, ie. example.com, mymamboreseller.net, or similar. mambo does not support subdomains, ie mdm.example.com as the primary reseller domain.
  2. The partner must have full DNS control over the domain, and be able to configure wildcard CNAME records, A, SPF, and TXT records for routing and email configuration
  3. The domain must not carry any marks against it from industry domain reputation databases

2. A wildcard SSL certificate

The mambo team can provide this through our cloud provider at cost, or the partner can provide one/lean on a 3rd party such as Cloudflare to handle SSL for root domains and subdomains. It is the responsibility of our partner to maintain SSL, as the mambo team will not monitor this.

3. Branding & identity

The partner should have:

  1. Corporate brand colours in HEX (#xxxxxx) for portal colour customisation
  2. A brand logo of dimensions to fit within a 200x50 window. This will be scaled as best as possible if larger, but a differing aspect ratio may not scale properly. Smaller logos that fit within the window will be left-aligned and untouched (eg. 100x50, 75x75).
  3. Links to your website
    1. A support link
    2. A billing link
    3. A Terms of Service link
    4. A Privacy Policy link
  4. A support email address

4. Billing

In the beta of our partner implementation, customers are primarily billed through Stripe, both those through mambo directly and those billed under a reseller. To set up the reseller within mambo, a Stripe key (eg sk_xxxxxxxxx) is required. Work is underway to support alternative billing options.

Update 1.14: Customers can now be set to manual billing, wherein the reseller is able to manually bill and track usage outside of mambo. At this point in time this is a customer-by-customer flag. A future release will include reseller-level manual billing toggles, as well as upfront license purchasing and management.
